The 6–1 Sixers host the 1–5 Bulls after Tyrese Maxey scored 38 against Charlotte. Chicago won the rebounding battle in Boston but still lost by 14. Watch whether the Bulls can turn extra chances into efficient offense. Joel Embiid was questionable and Nic Claxton doubtful at 11:30 a.m. ET.
Philadelphia’s 109–104 win over Charlotte paired 38 points from Tyrese Maxey with just eight team turnovers. Chicago’s last game went the other way: the Bulls outrebounded Boston 51–41 but shot 35-for-92 and lost 125–111. Caleb Wilson’s 23 points, including six threes, were a bright spot.
The matchup is a good test of whether effort on the glass can become cleaner offense. Philadelphia also got 19 points and no turnovers from Anfernee Simons. Check the frontcourt picture before tipoff: Joel Embiid was questionable and Chicago’s Nic Claxton doubtful on the 11:30 a.m. ET report.
Philadelphia is 6–1 and keeps putting wins on the board. Chicago is 1–5 and needs a way to make its work count for more. The Sixers beat Charlotte 109–104 on Saturday behind 38 points from Tyrese Maxey; the Bulls’ last outing was a 125–111 loss in Boston.
The appealing contest within this one is possession quality. Chicago can fight for rebounds, but those extra chances have to turn into useful shots. Philadelphia just won a close game while taking unusually good care of the ball.
Maxey is the name to know first: 38 points on 13-for-23 shooting against Charlotte, plus eight makes in nine trips to the foul line. Anfernee Simons supplied 19 points and five threes, giving Philadelphia a second source of perimeter scoring.
Chicago rookie Caleb Wilson scored 23 against Boston, including six threes. Norman Powell added 16. The Bulls have individual scoring contributions to work with; the question is whether they can connect them into enough good possessions to stay with Philadelphia.
Joel Embiid was questionable on the November 2 injury report at 11:30 a.m. ET. That is the status to use, rather than treating an earlier expectation of a return as a confirmed lineup. Philadelphia also listed Dominick Barlow and Ariel Hukporti out.
Chicago listed Nic Claxton doubtful, with Tobe Awaka and Jalen Smith probable. Those designations make the frontcourt picture something to revisit before tipoff. They also put an extra spotlight on how the Bulls finish defensive possessions without assuming who will be available.
Watch the trip after a Chicago rebound. The Bulls won the boards 51–41 in Boston but shot 35-for-92 and gave the ball away 16 times. Getting another chance is valuable only if it becomes a better chance.
Philadelphia’s last game offers the counterexample: eight turnovers, compared with Charlotte’s 18. The Sixers did not need to win the rebounding count to win the game. Chicago has to avoid handing back the possessions it works to earn.
Simons and VJ Edgecombe combined for 29 points without a turnover against Charlotte. Edgecombe also collected eight rebounds. That is useful support around Maxey even before considering any change in Philadelphia’s available personnel.
It is an easy detail to miss when one player scores 38: the teammates who keep possessions intact can help make a star’s scoring decisive.
Chicago’s clearest route to a competitive night is to make its rebounding work and its decision-making work together. A hard-earned board followed by a rushed shot lets Philadelphia off the hook.
For the Sixers, watch whether Maxey’s pressure opens simple choices for everyone else. The last result shows they can win with a big individual scoring night and a low team turnover total. Repeating the second part is the more useful early signal.
The conversation starter: which matters more tonight, Chicago’s extra rebounds or Philadelphia’s fewer mistakes? Watch a few possessions before choosing.
Wilson’s six threes against Boston and Maxey’s 38 against Charlotte supply the highlights. The quieter story is who gives those scorers enough worthwhile chances to matter.
The November 2 11:30 a.m. ET injury report listed Joel Embiid questionable, Dominick Barlow and Ariel Hukporti out for Philadelphia. Chicago listed Nic Claxton doubtful and Tobe Awaka and Jalen Smith probable. Source
