Unbeaten Memphis hosts a New Orleans team that has won two straight after an 0–4 start. Cameron Boozer just scored 27; Saddiq Bey led the Pelicans with 25. Watch ball security: New Orleans won despite 23 turnovers, while Memphis got 13 assists and no turnovers from Cam Spencer.
Memphis is 6–0 after a 136–105 win over Sacramento. New Orleans is 2–4 after beating Atlanta 121–99, its second straight victory. Cameron Boozer had 27 points and nine rebounds for Memphis, but also seven turnovers; Cam Spencer balanced that with 13 assists and none.
The Pelicans got 25 points and four steals from Saddiq Bey, yet committed 23 turnovers themselves. Watch which team turns pressure into useful offense rather than wasted chances. Trey Murphy III was probable, Yves Missi and Jordan Poole out; Memphis listed Scotty Pippen Jr. doubtful and Quinten Post questionable at 11:30 a.m. ET.
Memphis has six wins and no losses. New Orleans has two wins that changed the feel of an opening stretch that began with four defeats. The Grizzlies just beat Sacramento 136–105; the Pelicans beat Atlanta 121–99.
Both teams arrive with a convincing recent result, but the records give them different tests. Memphis is trying to keep its strong start rolling. New Orleans gets to find out whether its improvement holds against an unbeaten opponent.
Cameron Boozer scored 27 and grabbed nine rebounds against Sacramento. Cam Spencer supplied 13 assists without a turnover. Those are different ways to move an offense: one player finishes a large share of the work, while another keeps the next teammate involved.
Saddiq Bey led New Orleans with 25 points against Atlanta and added four steals. Jeremiah Fears contributed 20 points and seven assists. Watch how often that pair can create a useful possession before Memphis has its defense settled.
New Orleans’ 121–99 win contained a warning alongside the good news: 23 turnovers. The Pelicans shot 43-for-76 and won the boards 49–36, which helped them win comfortably anyway. Those are not advantages a team should simply assume will recur.
The November 2 report at 11:30 a.m. ET listed Trey Murphy III probable, with Yves Missi and Jordan Poole out. Memphis listed Scotty Pippen Jr. doubtful and Quinten Post questionable. The listed statuses are a snapshot, not a promised rotation.
Watch the ball when Boozer is asked to make the next decision. His 27-point game also included seven turnovers. New Orleans just got four steals from Bey and three from Zion Williamson, so the moment between receiving a pass and choosing what to do with it deserves attention.
Spencer’s 13 assists and zero turnovers provide the other Memphis example. Can the Grizzlies keep putting the ball in places where the next decision is simple?
Memphis got 21 points from GG Jackson, who made all five of his three-point attempts, and 24 from Isaiah Stewart on 8-for-9 shooting against Sacramento. Boozer was the leading scorer, but he was far from the only productive option.
That distribution changes what a viewer should look for. If New Orleans sends extra attention toward one scorer, follow the pass to see who inherits the opening.
The Pelicans do not need their last two wins dismissed as a small sample, and Memphis does not need an unbeaten record treated as a guarantee. This game offers a more useful test: can New Orleans pressure the ball without becoming careless with its own possessions?
We will be watching the contrast between the Pelicans’ 23 turnovers last time and the clean decisions Spencer supplied for Memphis. The scoring can be loud; the giveaway count may explain who gets to keep scoring.
Try this question: if you could remove one problem from New Orleans’ last win, would it be anything other than the 23 turnovers? Then see whether Memphis makes that problem more expensive.
Boozer’s 27 points are the obvious entry point. Spencer’s 13 assists without a turnover are the detail to bring to the conversation.
