The Kings earned their first win in Dallas, led by Acuff, Monk and LaVine. Now they host a 6–2 Lakers team coming off 42 points and 13 assists from Doncic. Watch the next pass when the defense helps. Kessler is available; Sacramento lists Achiuwa probable on the 2 p.m. ET report.
Los Angeles beat Miami 138–117 with 42 points and 13 assists from Luka Doncic and 27 points from Austin Reaves. The Lakers recorded 39 assists. Sacramento beat Dallas 115–100 for its first win: Darius Acuff Jr. scored 25, Malik Monk 24 and Zach LaVine 23. Monk and LaVine made five threes apiece.
Watch whether the Kings can create similarly useful chances against a new opponent while defending the pass after help arrives. Kessler is available for Los Angeles; Achiuwa is probable for Sacramento, which lists Murray, Raynaud and Simmons out.
Sacramento finally has a win to build on. The Lakers have a passing performance that makes their leading scorer even harder to ignore. The Kings beat Dallas 115–100 to reach 1–6; Los Angeles beat Miami 138–117 and is 6–2.
Luka Doncic scored 42 against the Heat, but his 13 assists are just as useful an entry point. Watch what happens when Sacramento tries to make somebody else finish the possession.
Doncic paired those 42 points and 13 assists with two turnovers. Austin Reaves added 27 points and five assists, making four of five threes. Los Angeles got both a dominant individual performance and productive decisions around it.
Darius Acuff Jr. led Sacramento with 25 points at Dallas, plus five rebounds and six assists. Malik Monk had 24 points and seven assists; Zach LaVine scored 23. The Kings’ first win had several contributors worth following.
The Kings are still seeking their first home win, with an 0–2 record in Sacramento. A road breakthrough gives them a result to build on, but it does not erase the next opponent’s demands.
At 2 p.m. ET, the Lakers list Walker Kessler available and Adou Thiero out. Sacramento lists Precious Achiuwa probable, with Keegan Murray, Maxime Raynaud and Ben Simmons out. Those statuses frame the available options without promising a particular rotation.
Follow the pass after the first defender needs help. The Lakers had 39 assists against Miami and made 51 of 89 shots. Sacramento had 25 assists while making 43 of 82 in Dallas.
The task is not to assume those percentages repeat. Look at whether the receiver gets a clean decision: shoot in rhythm, attack a closeout, or move the ball again. The quality of that choice can reveal more than the opening shooting streak.
Monk and LaVine combined for 10 made threes in Dallas—five apiece. Monk shot 5-for-8 from beyond the arc; LaVine went 5-for-9. Acuff led the scoring, but Sacramento’s other perimeter threats made their own substantial contributions.
If the Kings start slowly tonight, watch whether those looks remain available. An open attempt that misses and a hurried attempt that misses tell different stories about the offense.
The Lakers’ last result offers a strong case for watching beyond Doncic’s scoring total. Reaves contributed efficiently, Kessler had 15 points and 15 rebounds, and the team kept moving the ball.
Sacramento’s first win also involved several productive players. The next test is whether that cooperation holds when the opponent makes the first option uncomfortable. Our focus is the next decision, not a demand that either team repeat every made shot from Monday.
Ask this: what is harder to defend, Doncic’s 42 points or the 13 assists that came with them? Then follow where the pass goes when a second defender pays attention to him.
For Sacramento, keep Acuff, Monk and LaVine in the same conversation. Their 25, 24 and 23 points in Dallas explain why the first win was more than one player getting hot.
The November 4, 2 p.m. ET report lists Lakers center Walker Kessler available and Adou Thiero out. Sacramento lists Precious Achiuwa probable; Keegan Murray, Maxime Raynaud and Ben Simmons out. Source
