Klay Thompson returns to Chase Center after eight threes and 30 points in Miami’s overtime win over the Clippers. Adebayo scored 35; Giannis had 27 and 14 rebounds. Golden State has won five straight. Giannis is listed available on the 4:45 p.m. ET report. Watch Miami’s decisions after a heavy workload.
Miami beat the Clippers 117–116 in overtime on Thompson’s late three. He finished with 30 points and eight threes; Adebayo had 35 points and 10 rebounds, while Giannis added 27 and 14. Now the Heat visit a 5–3 Warriors team riding five straight wins.
Curry scored 34 in Golden State’s latest victory, with 19 more from Bassey. Giannis is available on the 4:45 p.m. ET report; Butler, Moody, Porzingis and Santos are out for Golden State. Watch whether Miami can create clean inside-out opportunities after overtime, rather than expecting Thompson to repeat every made shot.
Klay Thompson arrives at his old home with a fresh reason to command attention. He made eight threes and scored 30 points Wednesday, including the late shot that gave Miami a 117–116 overtime win over the Clippers. Now the four-time Golden State champion visits Chase Center in a Heat uniform.
The Warriors bring their own momentum: five straight wins and a 5–3 record. Miami is 3–5. The reunion is the easy story to spot; the harder question is how much the Heat can reproduce on the night after overtime.
Bam Adebayo scored 35 on 14-for-20 shooting against the Clippers and collected 10 rebounds. Giannis Antetokounmpo added 27 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and three blocks. Both logged 41 minutes.
Stephen Curry led Golden State’s latest win with 34 points, seven assists and five made threes. Brandin Podziemski added 20. Watch where the defense sends its second pair of eyes: attention toward one scorer can become an opportunity for the next.
The latest status is more useful than an earlier guess about rest. Miami lists Giannis available with a right wrist sprain on the 4:45 p.m. ET report. That establishes his designation, not how many minutes he will play after Wednesday’s workload.
Golden State lists Jimmy Butler III, Moses Moody, Kristaps Porzingis and Gui Santos out. Miami lists Tre Donaldson and Vladislav Goldin out on G League two-way assignments. Keep the available personnel separate from the familiar names associated with these teams.
Follow Miami’s entry pass and the next decision. Adebayo and Giannis supplied 62 points against the Clippers, while Thompson’s eight threes gave the offense a very different scoring source. What happens when a defender leaves the perimeter to help inside?
Davion Mitchell’s last line adds another person to watch: 10 assists, four steals and one turnover in 43 minutes. Miami had 35 assists as a team. The useful question is whether the pass arrives before the defense has recovered, not whether another difficult shot goes in.
Golden State’s 116–113 win over Phoenix included 19 points and eight rebounds from Charles Bassey. Georges Niang added 13 points on 5-for-6 shooting, three assists and no turnovers. Curry was the leading scorer, but the supporting possessions mattered too.
The Warriors won the rebounding count 44–37. Watch who finishes the possession when Miami’s bigger scoring threats draw bodies toward the basket; the next rebound can determine whether the initial defensive effort was enough.
A Thompson shooting burst would make for an irresistible homecoming. Miami also has a more demanding practical question: how to turn a night of heavy minutes into another night of clear decisions. Thompson played 35 minutes, Mitchell 43, and Adebayo and Giannis 41 apiece.
We would watch the quality of the early opportunities before treating every miss as fatigue. Does Miami create a clean look and miss it, or does Golden State force a late, crowded attempt? Those are different problems, even when the scoreboard looks the same.
Before the first three goes up, ask this: is Thompson’s eight-three night the most encouraging part of Miami’s win, or is it Adebayo’s 35 on 20 shots? Your answer gives you a different place to look when Golden State chooses where to help.
Then give a supporting player a possession of your attention. Mitchell’s 10 assists and Bassey’s 19 points are reminders that the reunion and Curry’s scoring are only part of the game.
At 4:45 p.m. ET on November 5, Miami lists Giannis Antetokounmpo available with a right wrist sprain; Tre Donaldson and Vladislav Goldin are out on G League two-way assignments. Golden State lists Jimmy Butler III, Moses Moody, Kristaps Porzingis and Gui Santos out. Source
