Boston is 6–2 after George and White combined for 49 in a win without Tatum. Charlotte lost despite 28 from Reid and 22 from Allen. Watch Miller’s response to a 2-for-15 night and the Hornets’ ball security. Pritchard is available; Knueppel is out on the 3 p.m. ET report.
Boston beat Milwaukee 109–102 while Tatum rested. George scored 25, White 24, and Pritchard supplied 10 points with five assists and no turnovers. Charlotte lost 114–104 to Brooklyn despite Reid’s 28 and Allen’s 22. Miller went 2-for-15, and the Hornets committed 17 turnovers. Watch whether Charlotte’s productive scoring stretches connect to cleaner possessions.
Pritchard is available; Knueppel, Diabate, Schroder and Grant Williams are out on the 3 p.m. ET report.
Boston beat Milwaukee without Jayson Tatum on Wednesday, with Paul George and Derrick White combining for 49 points. Charlotte got 50 from Naz Reid and Grayson Allen against Brooklyn and still lost.
Those results set up a useful comparison. The Celtics arrive 6–2; the Hornets are 3–6. Productive individual nights matter, but the possessions around them determine whether those points are enough.
George scored 25 and made five of nine threes against Milwaukee. White added 24 points, seven assists and a perfect nine-for-nine night at the line. Boston had two different sources of pressure.
Reid led Charlotte with 28 points and nine rebounds. Allen supplied 22 points and five threes on seven attempts. Watch whether their next good touch also makes the following teammate’s decision easier.
Tatum’s absence Wednesday was rest, according to the official preview; that previous lineup should not be treated as tonight’s lineup. Pritchard is listed available on the 3 p.m. ET report.
Charlotte lists Knueppel, Diabate, Schroder and Grant Williams out. Boston’s Carter, Cenac, Dillon Mitchell and Amari Williams are out on G League assignments or two-way designations. The Hornets have less room to assume a missing contributor will solve the next possession.
Keep an eye on Brandon Miller’s first clean opportunity. He shot 2-for-15 against Brooklyn, including 1-for-10 from three. That is a result to improve on, not a reason to assume every open shot is the wrong shot.
Notice whether Boston makes him catch farther from a useful attacking position. A difficult reception can turn a reasonable idea into a rushed attempt.
Pritchard packed 10 points and five assists into 18 minutes against Milwaukee without a turnover. A supporting contribution can change a game without becoming the headline.
Boston’s overall 6–2 record also hides a 1–2 road mark. Charlotte is hosting a successful team, but the Celtics still have something to prove away from home.
Charlotte’s 17 turnovers against Brooklyn are worth following alongside the shooting. Even a strong Reid or Allen stretch becomes less valuable when the next possession never produces a shot.
Boston collected 54 rebounds against Milwaukee’s 45. Our focus is whether Charlotte can keep the game to one defensive effort at a time, then make a controlled first decision at the other end.
Would you rather get another five threes from Allen or a steadier shooting night from Miller? That question makes Charlotte’s supporting possessions easier to notice.
For Boston, watch the player who touches the ball after George or White draws attention. Wednesday’s win is useful evidence of shared responsibility; tonight is a new test of whether that sharing stays productive.
The November 6, 3 p.m. ET report lists Pritchard available. Charlotte lists Kon Knueppel, Moussa Diabate, Dennis Schroder and Grant Williams out. Boston’s Devin Carter, Christopher Cenac Jr., Dillon Mitchell and Amari Williams are out on G League assignments/two-way designations. Source
